The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Nagaon University is committed to fostering a robust culture of quality in all academic, administrative, and research activities of the University. In alignment with the guidelines and expectations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the IQAC functions as a key mechanism for planning, guiding, and monitoring quality enhancement initiatives across the University.

Recognizing the importance of a systematic and sustainable Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS), the IQAC endeavors to institutionalize best practices through well-defined processes and participatory governance. The Cell promotes a decentralized approach to quality enhancement, encouraging departments, centres, and administrative units to actively take ownership of quality-related initiatives. By integrating diverse institutional activities and fostering stakeholder participation, the IQAC aims to ensure continuous improvement and accountability in higher education delivery.

Goals and Objectives

• The IQAC of Nagaon University is constituted with the following objectives:
• To develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action aimed at improving the academic, administrative, and research performance of the University.
• To promote institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through the internalization of a quality culture and the institutionalization of best practices across all units of the University.

Functions of IQAC

• Development and application of quality benchmarks for academic, administrative, and support services.
• Defining parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the University.
• Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development, enabling the adoption of innovative knowledge systems and technologies for participatory teaching–learning processes.
• Collection, analysis, and utilization of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
• Dissemination of information on quality parameters, policies, and initiatives to all stakeholders.
• Organization of inter- and intra-institutional workshops, seminars, and awareness programmes on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles.
• Documentation of institutional activities and programmes contributing to quality improvement.
• Acting as the nodal agency of the University for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
• Development and maintenance of an institutional database and Management Information System (MIS) for monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing institutional quality.
• Periodic conduct of Academic and Administrative Audits and ensuring follow-up actions.
• Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) in accordance with NAAC guidelines and prescribed parameters.
