The newly established Nagaon University brings with it a legacy of 80 years in the form of imparting education at graduate and post - graduate levels in the form of Nowgong College established in 1944. The historical root and importance of this institution is a reminder of those vibrant days of our freedom struggle and educational commitment of a group of dedicated individuals of the Nagaon region that embodied meaningful dialogues for the present and future generations.
An educational institution always believes in sharing ideas and skills with a strong ethical foundation that is capable of addressing challenges of 21st century that include climate change, regional disparities and societal imbalances. Sustainable development as propounded by leaders of the global community which concentrates on meeting the needs of the present generations without compromising the ability of future generations is one the yardsticks that this University is committed to. With rapid intrusion of artificial intelligence into our lives that essentially encompasses individual and collective spheres , we need to concentrate on our strengths and weaknesses to have a better society.
