Open and Distance Learning (ODL)

Nagaon University is committed to promoting inclusive, flexible, and accessible higher education through its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) initiatives. In line with its vision of extending educational opportunities beyond the conventional classroom, the University facilitates recognised Study Centres that enable learners from diverse backgrounds to pursue quality education while balancing their professional, personal, and social commitments. The establishment of an Open and Distance Learning Centre is also envisioned under the Nagaon University Act, 2023.

 

Study Centres

At present, Nagaon University hosts the following recognised Study Centres:

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Study Centre

The IGNOU Study Centre serves as an approved Learner Support Centre of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, providing academic counselling, admission guidance, assignment submission facilities, practical support (where applicable), examination-related assistance, and other learner support services for students enrolled in various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes.

Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) Study Centre

The KKHSOU Study Centre offers learner support for a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University. The centre provides academic counselling, distribution of self-learning materials, assignment guidance, examination coordination, and other academic support services to facilitate flexible and lifelong learning.

Learner Support Services

The Study Centres provide comprehensive academic and administrative support, including:

  • Academic counselling by qualified faculty members.

  • Admission and registration guidance.

  • Distribution of study materials.

  • Assignment submission and evaluation support.

  • Practical and laboratory support, wherever applicable.

  • Examination-related assistance and student facilitation.

  • Information on academic schedules, workshops, counselling sessions, and learner support activities.

Through these Study Centres, Nagaon University continues to strengthen its commitment to expanding access to higher education, fostering lifelong learning, and empowering learners with flexible educational opportunities that meet the evolving needs of society.
