Department of Sanskrit, presently known as Department of Sanskrit & Indology, is one of the oldest departments of Nowgong College (Autonomous) which has been a part of this institute from its accouchement. At present, three courses are running smoothly in the department respectively undergraduate course, post-graduate course and PhD programme course. Moreover, one diploma and one certificate course of Spoken Sanskrit also are running in the department in collaboration with Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi. The department is now running with three regular faculty members, namely
1. Dr. Puspa Saikia, Assistant Professor
2. Dr. Chandan Hazarika, Assistant Professor
3. Dr. Purboshri Borpuzari, Assistant Professor
